Virtue Homes completed our partially finished basement and also constructed a bathroom and bedroom in an unfinished section. We couldn't have been more pleased with the result. Dan Klopher (realtor), Gerald Helf (contractor) and Kyle Mueller (project manager) were fantastic all along the explore, design, and build phases. We met Dan on 2016 Parade Homes where we first walked through a Gerald home. We really like the back half (North side) of the house with open concept of living room, dinning area, and kitchen in a large open space with laundry and master suite in line on the back half. But we liked the front half of a house (South side) from another builder with mud room, study, foyer, guest bedroom, main bath all in line. We then worked with an architect to bring together both into one design. We also put into the design to finish two thirds of the basement with one bath, two bedrooms, kitchenette, den area, and exercise/game area. Dan and Kyle worked with the architect and us to finalize design and construction issues. Gerald provided a list of their sub-contractors (about a dozen) and told us to go pick out everything so their bid would be as accurate as possible. This worked out very well in not being in a panic to pick stuff out the last minute (although there was still some of that). Many subs commented that we will love Gerald cause he "plans the work" and "works the plan" through a spreadsheet listing of weekly activities/ responsibilities of each sub. This worked great to communicate what work we could expect when as we were at the site almost daily. And he pretty much stuck to the plan! Gerald uses "change orders" to document and contract with us every change and cost increase/ decrease. We are very pleased with the quality/ quantity/ timing of the work and we love the house. Only the concrete was delayed. Gerald is a quiet communicator and you don't always know what he is thinking or his mood on any given day. He is careful in what he says, but he always delivers on what he says. The team of Dan, Gerald, and Kyle all balanced one another out very well. I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Gerald and Casey were very easy to work with. The cabinet contractor was behind schedule, and Casey kept us up to date with the schedule changes this caused, as well as moved things around to ensure the project was done very close to schedule. Work actually came in under budget too. Very happy with the new theater, bar, rec room, bathroom and spare bedroom in the basement.
